| As the publisher of the art book imprint Ludion for almost twenty years, you might say that publishing is in my blood. Along with our continued commitment to art books, I am excited to be introducing Graphic Matter, our new program of artists’ editions. Artists' editions are works of art, produced as multiples, in limited editions. We are currently working with important contemporary artists who we believe are relevant to our time. Generally, these are artists whose paintings, drawings, vintage prints and sculptures have become unattainable due to the high prices of their works on the primary and secondary art markets. The practice of graphic arts today is consistent with the utopian and generous notion of art that was expressed in the 1960s and 1970s by advanced artists such as Andy Warhol, Marcel Broodthaers and Joseph Beuys, and remains accessible to a broad group of art lovers. |
